...to go a weekend on holiday

Tomorrow my mom and I will go to Middelkerke for a long weekend. And the weather report predicts we are heading for the beach with lots of sun, sun and sun for everyday, YEAH:D! And I am looking forward to it. So people you have to miss me for a few days. And hopefully I will come back with inspiration to put on my blog:D!

...to paint

I have made this painting more than a year ago, but I never finished it. Since last week I put the painting on the table in the dinning room and everytime I see the painting it gives me a lot of ideas how I could finish it. I love the way I have painted the trees, it's not detailed with leafs, but with black planes and lines, quite simple and I think I will finish it with some bright colour(s).  Maybe that someone else has better ideas:)?

Last saturday we had a bachelor party. The weather was great and we have enjoyed the high tea during a boat journey through the canals of Utrecht.

 

 The man on the boat has company of a heron. How cute is that:).

 

 Out of the boat I saw that someone got creative with knitting yarn and that makes me happy:)!

Hello again! It has been a few days ago that I have put something on my blog. And I have a good reason for it. I had a weekend full of parties. Today it's Andre's birthday. He is 30 years old now. A special age that has to be celebrated:). That's why I gave a surprise party for him last friday. The theme was games and the dress code was sportive. I love themes, dress codes and games:)! And as you can see on the pictures I went all out:)! I have designed the invitation, a print for on a t-shirt. On the front I have designed a text with  "olympic games 2011" and with the names of all kinds of games we love to play, including the name and the age of the person of the t-shirt on the back. I also made garlands of pawns, cocktail sticks of pawns with names and ages of the peoples that were invited, decoration for the pie.....and I had so many more ideas what I could do but I had to stop myself, cause I also needed time for other preparations. But luckily I had my family who helped me alot:)! And yes, Andre was surprised, even I was surprised cause I didn't expected so many people on time:)! And it was fun and great to have their company to celebrate Andre's birthday:).

Yesterday I had a bachelor party of a friend who will marry in july. We had a delicious high tea (just made by ourself) on a boat that sailed through the canals of Utrecht. The weather was perfect for it. In the evening we had a delicious dinner at the resaurant Asia de Cuba. This is a restaurant which I can recommend if you like food of diffrent cultures. Afterwards we went to the cinema to watch a movie, "Water for elephants". There were moments in the movie that almost made me cry and that doesn't happen to me alot. So it was a good romantic/drama movie. And as last we went dancing, YEAH. Yes, I love to dance:D.

After two big parties we decided to celebrate Andre's birthday today by just relaxing at home. I gave him a chic leather wallet with something personal in it.

Last saturday Andre en I watched the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's. I love the atmosphere of the movie, the styling, the music and the actress Audrey Hepburn is really an extraordinary beauty to see. One of the moments of the movie that has inspired me is doing things in a day that you have never done before:). That should make life more fun:D. Don't you think?

...fluorescent colors

 

Last week I got inspired by our orchid that had too much sun/too less water (I think a combination) from me:S. The leafs got a bit dried out and then turned into yellow (I gave it water). But somehow the color just made the leafs more beautiful. It gave me inspiration to paint flowers with leafs or branches of fluorescent colors. And not all the leafs, but just one as accent. That makes the idea stronger. And yes, I have used the fluorescent colors that I have bought yesterday. And the colors make me happy:)! The smart ones may have noticed, that I haven't use the fluorescent color yellow. That will follow.

...to shop:)

For good investments in painting products I went to Swaak in Utrecht. I fell in love with the neon painting colors:) and they gave me ideas what I could paint with those colors, so I just had to buy them. I also bought some good paintbrushes and a paintbrush holder.   

Another ivenstement (even though I have alot of bags). a good firm bag, with shoulderstrap and it's a good format not too big or too small. And I like the combination of the black and beige colours with a bright orange accent.

Finally weekend:)! Tomorrow it will be not so sunny as the passing weekends, but do not think too much about that. Just listen to this music. It is a good start to begin with and it will bring you a bright blue saturday:D.

..simplicity

Today I felt like drawing something simple. Two birds looking lovingly at eachother. The drawings are framed and we gave the two love birds a nice spot in our bedroom:). Doesn't it look cosy:).

...to give away a painting

And the winner is............. Stefan:)! Why did I choose this picture? Because it's dynamic, a challenge (it's not a kind of image that I normally would think of to paint) and the picture was a bit blurred so it gives me the space to make something of it. Also it gave me a good idea how I would paint it. The dynamic is emphasized by the black planes. And I kept it black and white, because it is a combination that fits the subject and it makes it tough for a tough guy.
Haha, and Andre just said that how longer he looks at it the more beatiful it becomes and that it is unfortunate that I have to give it away.
By the way the size of the painting is A4 format.

It was really difficult for me to choose one, cause every image was a good inspiration to paint, YES REALLY! But I had to pick one and I have painted it:)! Are you curious who the winner is? For mothersday I bought a mug with a chalkboard heart and a chalk (from silly gift bought at the Bijenkorf). With a chalk you can write something on the mug. Isn't this fun and lovely to give:)!

...to spend time with family and friends

      

            

     

Today it was a wonderfull day. I spend time with my sister and her two kids. We went to the city in Utrecht. We visited the Bijenkorf (they have really funny interior stuff for at home), the market (for delicious strawberries), bookstores (one of the favourite shops of my niece and nephew), a shop Prima Vista (they also have funny interior stuff for at home and what makes you happy to see). The most fun stuff what I just couldn't resist to buy were little lunchboxes in a shape of a hamburger and a strawberry included with a spoon and a fork. How cute is that:). I bought one for my niece, one for my newphew and even one for me:). I bought the strawberry for myself. As I love fruits to eat everyday, it is a fun way and good box for me to put fruits in it if I go to work.

And if you have read my blog from yesterday you must be wondering if I enjoyed the weather too;). Ofcourse, after shopping Andre and I cycled to friends in Utrecht and had a delicious dinner outside on their balconny. And we have enjoyed the weather the whole evening.

On the above image you see more of my acquirements. Red notebooks, mixed nuts with a red label, raspberries, pink...red earings...And apparently red was my favorite colour of today. Even the dress that I wear is red.

...good weather

Almost weekend. Yeeaahhh, tomorrow it will be 28 degrees in Utrecht! I love good weather. It gives me energy. By knowing that I can go picknicking with Andre, or cycle, sunbaking in the park, go for a long walk, swim…..ow I get to much ideasJ. Anyway, whatever I will do tomorrow it is certain that I will enjoy the good weather. EVERYONE SHOULDJ!

It has been a while since I have made a painting. And I have missed that, so my plan is to paint something this weekend. And because I don’t have an idea yet what I can paint, I can use someone else's idea:). So if you have an idea what I can paint let me know. It would save me alot of time to figure that out;). Mmmmmmmm, cookies with white chocolat on top. I love that! Andre made them bigger than normal so that one will be enough. I took the biggest cookie out of the biscuit tin and it was indeed enough for me. So Andre baking big cookies is a good idea and it was really delicious:P.

...gardens in Cordoba

I have never been there but I just saw it on tv, a beautiful garden in Cordoba in Spain. Maintained by a family with patience, experience and love. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. ...to be over the top on an ordinary day

Last year in september Andre and I went to Japan. We loved the culture, food, nature.........and for me it was the place to be for fashion:)! Every city we went to it was shopping heaven for me. And I was sooooo amazed by the Harajuku girls. They wear outfits like if they are dolls, super heroes...just over the top on an ordinary day. How cool is that! The picture above was made in the district Harajuku (Japan).

Today Andre and me visited friends in Harderwijk. They have a board with a selection of quotes from Loesje hanging on the wall in their toilet. If you start to read one, you just want to read more. But I kept it by reading a few, so that I remain surprised. Funny how it works if you get inspired by quotes and the toilet is a good space for it;). One of my favorite is "do we understand each other, or is it love". Doesn't sound that lovely?
More people should have a good/few quotes hanging in their toilet that is inspiring for them. And we are one of them;).
